I was invited to occasionally collaborate for the column “Anarquitetura” of the brazilian magazine AU (architecture and urbanism). The briefing is to make something related to architecture or urbanism in a witty/critical way. This collaboration showed the “anti-human” side of São Paulo. I’ve made an empiric study of different kinds of elements to prevent people from sitting and lying down in benches that are quite similar to those used to prevent pidgeons from standing in some buildings. These elements assume different shapes and sizes and are used in various ways in different places around the city.
