Espaço Olavo Setubal: Brasiliana Itaú
Espaço Olavo Setubal Brasiliana Itaú comprises one of the largest collections of art with Brazil and brazilian history as main subject. By taking out almost every frame of the art pieces and paintings and putting them in extremely white spaces, the scenographer provided spaces similar to those of white sheets of paper in a book. With this in mind, the museum’s visual identity and signage consists of elements that reminds us of a book: header, lines to divide informations and organize space, big titles, texts and “images”. The use of a serif font for the titles was to give some sense of history and classicism to the visual communication, but its use in bold and large font-size gives a modern approach and allows for a perfect comprehension of the subject divisions within the space.
